Hiding a component/body completely so it doesn't show up in drawing?

Hi,

One thing I cant seem to figure out is if there is a function to do as my topic suggests? If I do some changes to my design and that includes hiding some components to maybe replace them with another version. When I get in to drawing mode, (if I choose to make the drawing from full assembly) every component and body is "activated" and visible so, I need to dig around and hide all the components and bodys I don't want in the drawing.

If it's a small assembly, it's ok just to select the parts I want in the drawing from the beginning but when the assembly is a bit bigger, I would like to be able to completely deactivate a body or component so it act like it was removed or deleted. I don't want to delete it because I want to be able to add it back later and maybe some other body has information linked to that body. (if I create a sketch on a body face or align to a components, it results in errors when a body later gets removed i believe).

Is there a way to hide a component or body so that it is still hidden when creating a drawing and keeps hidden until I manually un-hide it again? I tried "Selectable/Unselectable" since I don't really tried that function before, but that wasn't it. (Off Topic: what is that? I could still select and show and hide a component while it was set as unselectable.

yeah, I just wondered why they designed it in that way.

But there is a cool way you can show/hide the components in your drawings.

watch the screencast to understand it in a better way.

Hi @Ajay_Kumar_Reddy

The thing im looking for is to supress even before I get in to the drawing. The ckeck boxes is "toggle supress" so that is what I use right now to hide away all the components and bodys I dont want to see in my drawing. It would be so much easier if that could be done in modeling environment already. We have different CAD software at work (IronCad) that allows you to do this so I just figured fusion must have this somewhere, I just havent found it.. But I guess not.

Yes, It is possible in Fusion 360.

let me explain how you can perform this.

1. Create drawing from design

2.Deselect full assembly

3.Hold shift and select the top component and bottom component in the list.

4. Then deselect the components you don't want to be.

5. Create the drawing.

Watch this screen-cast to understand it in a better way.

there you go, Hope this helps.
