Help with toggling automatic dimensions

Hi all,

Not sure if you've encountered this issue or not and yes i've googled to see if there were a solution available,

but these dimensions come up literally every time I draw a line, circle, or any other preset geometry that isn't a spline.

Is there any way to turn this 'auto dimension' thing off?

Thanks in advance!

The short answer, unfortunately, is no.  However, these dimensions should only appear if you are typing in values during geometry creation.  So, if I infer your request here, it would be:  Allow a setting where you can type in length/angle for lines, or diameter for circle, etc., but not create dimensions for those values.  Is that correct?  If so, I would suggest putting it on the Fusion 360 Idea Station, to see if others share your same request.

We do have a project in the backlog to not create 90 and 180 degree angle dimensions (those should be horizontal or vertical constraints), which will help a lot, IMO.

Personally, I tend not to often type in values unless I want to later change those value by editing the dimension.  Sometimes I will "eyeball" the geometry, or use grid snapping, then apply dimensions later.  But that's a personal style...
