Help with splitting an emboss from the faces used for emboss

I have with help done this before, but for some reason I keep getting a message try without intersecting tools.

I can can get parts to split but there are sections I just can't get to split.

This worked for me:  Create a zero offset surface before the emboss, and use that as a tool for Split Body:
