Hello,
I am trying to create a bevel on the stem of a pole where the pole transitions from square to a circle. I have attached my project and a quick sketch I drew to show what I am trying to do.
In my project, I am trying to top the flat sides of the square post with an arc shape. I tried to Loft between the square and the circle, and also to cut away the material, but I'm just not having any luck.
Thank you in advance for any help. 🙂
Best,
Brian

If this is what you were looking for all I did was a loft between the top fact of the square and the bottom face of the circle and had two arcs as guard rails for the loft.
actually, it's not quite that simple. i attached a hand drawn sketch to show what i was trying to do. if you look at that sketch, you (hopefully) can make out the arc shapes at the top of the 4 sides.
i figured out another way to do it, though i would still like to know if anyone has a solution that removes the material from the top of the sides.
my solution was to make a giant lofted cone and then extrude a square shell up through the bottom using the patch mode, then split the body using the square shell as a tool.
See attached model and study the timeline and also the sketches.
Make sure to honor symmetries in your modeling a it'll make things easier 😉
My apologies. I did see that, and when I went to attempting the loft I completely forgot about it. But I knew within a little while @TrippyLighting would be here to save the day.
here's a pic of what i came up with...
i still would really appreciate if someone could help me figure out how it could be done another way though. this is about learning for me, and my goal was to learn more about using different tools.

I performed a Revolve on one Profile, then an Extrude > Intersect on another.
OK, I'm gonna stop with this- really, I am... I am...
One more version, this time, done with only 1 Sketch and just 3 steps.
