Help with a steering wheel handle curve

Hi. I am brand new to Fusion 360 and design in general havin only purchased a 3d printer last week.

I am currently trying to design a steering wheel for a simulator and I am having some issues with the handles which will be made in 2 parts top and bottom with the wheel plate between them. The issue I am having is that I can't seem to fillet of curve the handles enough to stop them looking 'blocky'.

I have attached an image so you can see what I am talking about. Really willing to learn as tool is amazing even if the learning curve is steep 🙂

Any help will be gratefully appreciated

Many thanks

fillet usually fails because of messy geometry.  It's not always obvious that geometry is messy, so sometimes requires some looking.  not really possible to help with out looking at your model.  file-export as .f3d your model and attach here.

my guess is you used a spline in a way that is causing problems.  just a wild guess though

Hi

thanks for the quick response.

I have attached the .f3d file for you to have a look at.

You are right about the messy geometry as I just created a spline from the
wheel plate and extruded it.

Any suggestions on how I can create this easier will be gratefully received
if not understood fully as I ams still getting to grips with the software

Many thanks

Go back to your first sketch.

Fully constrain all of your geometry - make use of obvious symmetry about the Origin.

Use Equal Constraints rather than duplicating dimensions for the holes.

You are missing a significant number of Tangent Constraints.

I recommend that you tackle one sketch element at a time - and if you can't constraint, STOP and ask questions...

Edit: Also, it sure would help if you could find an image that had a lighter background so that the wheel had more contrast.

Edit 2: A spline should have as few points as possible, but better yet, I would use only tangent arcs an lines for this design.
