So I'm trying to recreate a Precursor orb, from the Jak and Daxter universe, as my first project but i have one problem i can't seem to figure out how to put the symbols and  patterns on the surface of the egg, which goes all the way around, I'm still learning the jargon of  Fusion 360 so big words will fly through my head here's my reference image  and here's anotherImage result for precursor orbImage result for precursor orb

Any help would be nice i already tried one form but said screw it start over try again

You can create sketches for each symbol, then extrude them into the orb:

A second option would be to use the Project to Surface command which should give a more accurate representation of the symbols.  There are quite a few tutorials for this command.

A third option would be to create a sheet metal cone for each row of symbols, unfold the cone, add the symbols, refold the cone, extrude the symbols into the orb.

You might have to do this sort of Split-Face-at-Closest-Point-and-Push/Pull the faces inwards.

That looks very helpful but I don't know how to get there

how did you loop the sketch at the top, did you draw the sketch and use the circular pattern or something else i get how you extruded I'm just on how you made it

I sketched a polygon on a plane flat across the top. Put sketch points on all the corners. Deleted the polygon. Made it into a 3D sketch by selecting every other point and Moving them downwards. Connected all the points with a spline. Selected the spline and all the points together, and copied them all down a bit, so that there were two of them at different heights.

Or you could do two polygons in different sketches one above the other, and then a third sketch to connect the corners in a wavy fashion.

Don't have to delete the polygon. Could leave it in, make it construction, parameterize it, etc. I didn't because I wanted my screenshot less cluttered.

So you made a polygon with whatever number you used and drew the sketch on it and also used the faces of that polygon to make the offset planes right

Of course this might be a lot easier...

You could do it like that, sure. But instead of OFFSET planes, you could do planes on an ANGLE through those polygon faces.

One last question is there a way to take a plane already set up at an angle and rotate it around the model or use it with the circular pattern to make multiple with the same distance apart but sharing the angle towards the model I think I can I just can't figure out how

No, you cannot pattern Planes. You'll have to make each one.

You might find it less work to make a sheet metal cylinder that fits around the egg with a little space, unfold it, cut out  all your symbols with a single sketch, re-fold it, and then project-to-surface-at-closest-point all those cut out edges.

Thanks for the help but I think I need to give up and not try anymore it's just difficult to use this program for a cylindrical object not the to mention the next thing I wanted to try and make also involves a ball shape

It would make life a lot easier if you put all of your questions about the Precursor orb into one thread.

This technique may be simpler than using a cone:

The screencast site is slow tonight, so here's the link.

p.s. The ball is much simpler than the orb.  Just use planes at angles to use with the Split Body command.

I finally did minus the line, that I could never replicate, just to ask if I accept a response as a souloion will it stop sending notication, literally every 20 minutes, about this post asking did I find a solution
