Help filling a hole!

Hi all,

I am new to Fusion but really enjoying it so far.

I have been trying to work out how to fill this hole in my design. I have tried quite a few different things but without any success.

I did manage to cover the hole with the patch tool but the model was hollow below the patch, as expected I guess, but I could work out how to make it solid.

The model is currently a single body but I have tried different options with it as a single body or three separate bodies.

Any help would be appreciated greatly,

Thanks

Stephen

Here's one way:

Notes:

  1. The three legs were made using the Circular pattern tool, so copies needed to be made in order to modify each of the legs.
  2. The original leg was extended after doing the circular pattern by moving back in the timeline and changing the extrusion.
  3. The other two legs can be modified in the same manner to create the full model.
  4. I don't work in the Patch environment very much, but you should be able to create a patch, then use the Boundary Fill tool to fill the interior.

One solutio could be to close the hole with a patch in Patch workbench.

I kinda done this before, what I did is I extruded one of the pipe in the direction of hole then I created arc on the circular surfaces of rest of the two pipes, those arcs can be used as splitting tool to split out the extra material from the design. Cutting marks are still there but after rendering that would no longer be a trouble.

I hope it helps and don't forget to accept it as a solution if you like it.

This could be a solution but I think here it needs a sharp tip at the intersection of three of the pipes.

happy Designing.

Thanks for all the suggestions

Great community here!

Patching the opening then using the boundary fill achieved the exact result I wanted.

Thanks again

You could also join a sphere inside.
But not cut as I made just to make it better visible.

Or you could just model them all the way to a point at the top, and then Fillet it.
