Guitar Body with drop top help

Hello,

First things first, I am quite new to fusion and 3D modeling.  I am getting better as I follow online course but often get stuck since I am lacking experience and still learning.  My goal is to be able to model 3d guitar to cut them on my CNC.

I am currently working on a strat style body with belly cut and arm rest.  Things are looking pretty good so far but I am having an issue with the creation of the drop top to follow the arm rest that was created from a sweep cut then a fillet to smooth of the top edge of the cut.

I wonder how to the the top to follow this curve correctly.

Any help or link to the proper technique to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards

Clement

Hi Clement,

Could you please provide some clarification on what is happening/what you want to happen in each image that you showed. I'm not really sure what curve you mean.

Thanks,

Emily

Hi

It is good practice to include a hand-drawn sketch of your modeling goal.

The bottom left portion of this screen shot shows the gap between the top and the body.

the guitar top need to follow the curve like this example from a real instrument

Does this make more sense ?

@cleriv

offset surface at zero and then Thicken surface.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Here you go,

I am not to sure what do you mean by Thicken the surface as the extrude does not work in the curve section of the bevel.

That's why @TheCADWhisperer mentioned thicken and not extrude.

Finally, you need to adjust the surface, because the direction of the thickening creates unwanted allowance.
