Im going to give a simple scenario so as to simplify my question and include pics:
lets say you have 2 components - component A (lets call this BIG BOX) and component B (lets call this SMALL BOX) and you want to join them together -
So for this I use a rigid joint ...
What if however I did not want it to snap to the middle but I wanted to add dimensions from the edge (D1 and D2 in the pics I attached) , similar to what we do in sketches ?

Cheers 🙂
would have been great if there was a sort of Dimension tool like in the sketches and if we could use constraints when using components .... for example to line the edges of those boxes you would just hit a colinear constraint ... or to line in in the middle you'd use a symmetry constraint !!
Similar to Inventor, no thanks, If you understand the Joint system, you would not have said that.
thanks,
I'll look up some tutorials on joints and see if Im missing anything about the joint features .... i've been using fusing for about 3 weeks and I feel Ive made very good progress as the ideas that I have I can now implement in 3d 🙂
Hi,
Here is a small demo for using predefined points and creating individual joint origins.
