Give Thickness to a solid body

Hi
I'm a beginner with Fusion 360 and I frequently have a problem that I can't solve each time:
How can I add thickness to a solid body that was first imported from a mesh file and convert to a solid body ? I tried with the Thicken command and it does work.

Thanks

Hi,

you can thicken a surface body but not a solid body

Please share the file and explain what you want to achieve.

File > export > save as f3d on local drive  > attach to post

if it is already solid, why do you need to thicken it?  Are you just looking to make it bigger?  If so, then maybe Scale would work.  If you are trying to make just parts of it "thicker", it is possible that Offset Faces would work, but if your model is made by converting a mesh (presumably in Faceted mode), that is a lot of faces to offset, so selection and performance might be a problem, and Offset Faces might also fail.  Usually, trying to work with solids produced by converting meshes will result in disappointment.

Shell may work for you as well.

Thank for your answers

I have machine this file on my CNC wich is a wood spoon and I find out that it was too thin for that kind of spoon, maybe I would like to increase the thickness by 2X or 3X.

So here is a copy of the attached file

A solid whose surface consists of triangles cannot be thickened.

However, you could scale it in one direction.

I would scale the mesh for smoother surface.

thank you for your answer

This seems like a good option to me, the spoon dish and handle will be both thicker , but by doing this,  the bottom of the spoon dish will it be thicker or as thin as it was before rescaling ?

sorry for my poor knowledge.
