Fusion360 keeps crashing when remeshing

Hello Community,

Fusion360 keeps crashing when I try to remesh an imported Mesh, extracted out of an .STL file.

Is there a thumb rule on how many faces you can remesh at once?

Kind regards,

Sander

Hi @EngineerSander

Can you attach prior designs that you have already completed in Fusion 360?
Attach original .stl file here to a Reply? A screencast/video of what you are doing will help us to understand.

Can you help to share the file for investigation? Did you have the chance to send the crash report? If yes, please tell us your mail address in the crash report.

Thanks,

Steven

@EngineerSander - is it an actual crash (do you see the crash report dialog?), or does the operation take a long time, and you are force quitting Fusion?  I looked, and did not see any crash reports from you, even going back one year.

Remeshing can be an expensive operation, so sometimes Fusion will appear to be locked up, when it is actually just working very hard to do the remesh for you.  There is no limit to the number of facets you can remesh, but the more you select, the longer it will take.  If you can share a sample design, we can try it to see whether it will eventually complete.  I suspect it will.
