Fusion on Browser crashed after adding user parameter

Hi,

I was just using the browser version of Fusion (on Linux using Chromium 58.0.3029.96 (64-bit)) and it crashed when I was adding user parameters. The following are the steps that I performed, as best I can recall them:

  1. Started editing a Fusion design that I had created earlier in the month.   It started up fine.
  2. Selected an existing circular face of the model.
  3. Selected the "Sketch >> Circle  >> Center Diameter Circle" tool
  4. Selected "TOP", then selected the XZ plane, then clicked on the center of the existing circular face.
  5. At this point I realized that I had forgotten to add a user parameter for the diameter of the new circle; so, I hit the ESC key to cancel the circular sketch tool.
  6. While still in "Sketch" mode, selected the "Modify >> Change Parameters" menu, then clicked the "add" (+) button and added a new user parameter, then clicked "OK" to  save it.
  7. Tried to add another user parameter by clicking the "add" (+) button again but Fusion crashed and displayed an error page asking me to send feedback (see attached screen cap below).

I closed+restarted the browser and cleared the browser cache but was given the same error page after clicking "Edit in Browser". Repeated attempts to edit the design failed for a while.  But after I waited ~20 minutes, I was again able to successfully edit the design. The model reverted to its pre-edit state. That is, the user parameter that I had added was not saved.

I hope this information is helpful in tracking down the cause. I've had random crashes in the past and, now that I think of it, I may have been adding or editing user parameters shortly before (but not immediately before) those crashes as well.

I'll try again and see what happens...

-Fred

EDIT:  fyi, I just tried it again and Fusion crashed again. This time, I didn't even have to click on the "add" (+) button, the mouse cursor was just hovering over it.  Here is the user parameter that I added

Name: INLETD
Units: inches
Expression: 0.5
Comment: Inlet bore diameter

Hi Fred

The issue has been reproduced and our team is working on it.

Hopefully we can get that fixed quickly. I'll post again to notice when a fixe has been pushed.

Meanwhile you should not use user parameters. Sorry for that.

Thanks for sharing

Thank you, @fred-3d, for the detailed set of steps to reproduce this problem.  I can verify that I see the same behavior.  We will quickly look at this and fix the underlying problem.

Hi Pierre,

Thanks for the update.   I will hold off using user parameters until I see your post that the problem has been resolved.

Hi Jeff,

I am glad that you were able to reproduce the issue.   After you have a fix available for general use, I will try to push User Parameters a little harder and see if anything else "shakes out".

Regards,

Fred

Hi Fred,

You should not experience crashes anymore when creating/adding/Saving user parameters.

On the other hand, we still have some linking/updating issues.

Working on it!

Thanks again for sharing

Hi Fred

Just to let you know that related issue we had with parameter links update is also resolved.

You can now create user parameters and linked geometry will update correctly when modified.
