Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion community and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing the issue! Could you attach an installation log file (autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log ) to this forum thread? Please see this article for the location of the file.

I could not find the log anywhere, even using the find feature.

I did not have an Appdata folder in my user folder.

Hi,

Again, sorry to hear of your trouble. Some questions for you:

  1. What operating system are you trying to install on?
  2. Has Fusion, or any CAD program ever been run on this system recently?
  3. What kind of network are you using to install from? Home? School? Office? Public (e.g. Starbucks)?
  4. If installing at your office or school, is there a proxy server being used? (If not sure, check with IT)
  5. Can you access your personal hub via a web browser? e.g. myhub.autodesk360.com

Thanks for your patience as we sort this out.

I am trying to install it on Debian 10(or whatever sid is) with the latest version of wine and wine64, configured to emulate Win7.  I have run fusion,  When it started to set up, I got really excited, but since I was in school with a limited bandwith, I closed the installer.  Since then I have been unable to install, no matter what I do, including deleting the .wine folder.  Recently it was failing on my home and school network, regardless.  I did not have a proxy server.  Hub is not blocked, but when I try to login, I get

Your Autodesk ID [mrgromov@stu.naperville203.org]isn't registered with any hubs on A360.

You're already signed in with Autodesk ID mrgromov (mrgromov@stu.naperville203.org).

Hi,

Well to be honest I'm not that familiar with this OS but the first thing I'd look at is getting out from behind any kind of network proxies just to take network interference out of the equation. Public libraries, Peet's, and Starbucks are examples of where you might try.

Next I'd also check the video mode being used in Debian to ensure it's powerful enough to run Fusion. I don't have any hands on experience with this OS but Fusion is a graphics-intensive application and this could be a problem area if not "powerful" enough.

Once you do connect to a non-proxy network, can you try accessing www.autodesk360.com, login, and upload some files? If this works successfully, then try re-downloading the Fusion 360 Client Downloader from www.autodesk.com and see if the streamer starts. We want to find out if the proxy is the reason the install is failing or Debian's Windows 7 compatibility, or if there's something else is contributing.

@baribak

I don't have a proxy, but it won't even launch at Starbucks.

Also, I believe my graphics are OK because I regularly run 3D games.

However, going back to my original question, why would I be getting a 404 if my graphics were bad?

Hi,

Regarding the video, we want to check all aspects of the system as on some if the video drivers aren't current Fusion may encounter issues.

On the inability to launch, sounds like it may be faster if we talk on the phone. Is there a good day, time, number to contact you?

Feel free to private message me here or send me an email at:

Thanks!

@baribak

I don't have a good time to be contacted, and this way is fine.

Also, as for hardware, I have a lenovo G710 laptop, so that may help.

If you need more information, just ask me.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for sharing all the information with us.

And thanks to the Fusion 360 team @masa.minohara and @baribak, great teamwork.

As I understand you were able to run installer but you had to interrupt it.

I think here are a couple things which we can test:

1. Could you may check if the folders are hidden by default?

    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\logs

2. Once you have access to the folder could you may check if you have full permission?

3. Could you may try to do a clean uninstall with the article here:

    https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-do-a-clean-uninstall-of-Autodesk-Fusion-360.html

I hope this helps. Please, keep us updated.

Thanks,

@Mike.Grau,

I tried to do what you said, but it did not help.  However, I did accidentally find the log.  I have attached it as a zip, because otherwise the forum thing gives me an error about the type not matching the contents.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for sharing the log file. This was really helpful.

Here are a couple things that I have found out:

1. I could see that the following error message

    FileNotFoundError: [WinError 3] Path not found: '\\\\?\\%LOCALAPPDATA%\\'

    is pointing to following folder:

    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local

    Could may check if you have full permission for the "Local" folder and if it is not hidden?

2. Your Network connection seems to be fine and a Proxy server has not been enabled as well. That is great for now.

    2016-09-16 22:05:19,717 - InstallDriver - adsk.dls.streamer.process - INFO :: Network connection OK

    2016-09-16 22:05:19,988 - InstallDriver - adsk.dls.streamer.process - INFO :: Proxy enabled False

I´m looking forward hearing from you.

Thanks,

So the last post did help, I just had a little bit of trouble with my linux external hard drive and could not test it out until now. Trust me, putting pressure on an external hard drive is a bad idea. I had to get a new one, but everything is fine as of now. Thank you for solving my problem.
