Fusion does not Register Keyboard Input

Fusion frequently does not register my keyboard inputs until I click in the window.  From what I can see, this only happens in the sketch environment, but it happens almost all of the time.  I made the Screencast below for a different reason, but I will include it here as it illustrates the issue.

As you can see, when attempting to create a rectangle, I pushed "R" to create a rectangle and the keystroke was registered but Fusion did nothing until I clicked in the window.  This also happened later in the video with the project command.  This is strange to me, as Fusion already had focus.  It also really slows me down, as I use the keyboard quite a bit.

I cannot show this in the Screencast, but this happens regardless of whether I am using Screencast or not.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Yea, I've noticed this before also inside the sketching environment.

Most notable is when I click to add a constraint, then change my mind, I have to click the CAD area to regain use of keyboard shortcuts. I'll see if we have anything logged about this. It is irritating though, I'll give you that.

Best,

@xander.luciano,

Thanks for the reply.

I created an IdeaStation post at the end of 2015 requesting this be implemented.  The status was changed to "Accepted", but it is still an issue.

Any idea on when this will be addressed?

Oh hey, I actually found FUS-20512 when I was going through the system and referenced it in the ticket I created haha

NCoaimp

And to be fair, that issue was addressed and fixed. However the issues highlighted in that report were that "right click->edit sketch" would take away focus, and that UI items such as creating an extrude and clicking ok with the marking menu would steal focus. Sadly the sketch palette was left out of that one.

So as of now, this is the only one I'm aware of stealing focus, however if you know of others, let me know and I'll add them to the ticket! 🙂

Thanks for reporting this!
