Fusion 360 update

Team,

 

We are unable to open .STP file after today's update for Fusion 360.  (June 11th, 2025.)

 

The warning we are getting is Autodesk Translation Services failed to translate step file, please make sure the step file isn't corrupt.

 

I was able open up the same file on another computer that have not been updated.  It works perfectly fine.

 

Anyone experiencing this kind of issue?

Hi @johnsurf63 ,

 

Could you please give try below steps and see if exporting .STP file works.

  1. Restart Fusion and try exporting again
    • There may be an update pending. Restarting will allow the update to be completed.
  2. Remove the special characters (  / ? < > \ : * | " )  from the name of the file or component
    • Special characters in file or component name may cause issues with export.
  3. Troubleshoot the network/security
  4. Use the Export function on the Fusion Teams portal
    • Navigate to the file in the portal https://www.autodesk.com/fusion-team and sign in
    • Click the export option (Down Arrow icon)
    • Select .STP as the file type
    • The file will be sent to you via email.

If still not working, let us know what version of Fusion you have and share Diagnostic Log Files.

Hi Sujay,

I was able to get it working by updating Google Chrome and if you asked why did I take this approach?  This was done out of 'desperation' and let's try to see if that would do the trick kind of attitude.  So far so good.
