Fusion 360 locks up!

I tried to insert a bolt form McMaster-Carr and Fusion 360 locked up.

I had to force shut down in the task manager.

I tried STEP and SAT with the same result.

I tried a nut and a bolt with the same result.

Is there an issue with Mcmaster-Carr?

I have Google as my default browser.

I did have a AVG extention on it but I removed it when I ran into this issue.

One more question:

What is the system anti-virus for both of you?

Any web anti-virus separate from that?

Thanks,

We should probably check if the files ever get downloaded.

Can you check in windows explorer:

%temp%/neutron

There should be a bunch of files there, and your downloaded .step files should be there.

If they are not, they are not being downloaded.

We do sometimes work weekends like this one, but we were all busy with the update. 🙂

When you say "3 older files" do you mean that they aren't STEP files from McMaster-Carr?

Not at this time.

We cannot reproduce it, and we can't figure out what might be causing it.

So we need more users to come forward, and/or need a breakthrough with your case.

At this point you could try a clean re-install. Please use the instructions for uninstalling from this page.

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/fusion-360-readme/td-p/4311780

Outside of that, you can always download the files as STEP and upload them to your data panel manually. Or open them with "New Design from File" so you can copy+paste them into your design. I know it's a workaround, but you aren't blocked from using McMaster parts entirely.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Ok thx for the heads up.

What is lost if anything when I do a clean install?

The only thing I would be concerned of losing would be my tool library.

I have some CAM templates as well.

I have another PC maybe I'll install fusion on it when I get some time and se what happens.

Hi folks,

One thing that I would like you to try before attempting a reinstall - from the Help drop down, can you "Clear user cache data" and see if that helps?

best regards,

Sanjay Jayabal.

If you have local libraries for CAM, you should copy them prior to re-installation. After re-install you can paste them back into this location.

C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\CAM360\libraries\Local
