Fusion 360 Crashes Every Time

I have been using Fusion 360 for about a month with no problems. After a few days away, I tried to open the program this morning. My trial had ended, so I activated as an enthusiast. Once I did that, the program crashed immediately. I made a few more attempts at opening the program and it crashed every time. Once I get to the splash screen, it stays there for about a minute. Then comes the error report to be sent.

Here are some things I have tried.

1. Uninstall and reinstall

2. Updated Windows

3. Disabled anti-virus

4. Uninstalled, manually deleted all autodesk files, restarted, turned off all non-essential services. Ended all processes I could. Re-installed.

5. Run as administrator

6. Repeated steps above and created new account

My internet speeds are 12 Mbps up and 9 Mbps down. My internet is working great - as it always does. My computer is working as usual. Nothing has changed on my network and nothing has changed on my computer.

I am running Windows 8.1 Pro. 16GB Ram, Intel i7-4770K CPU, ASUS Z97 Pro Motherboard,, Kingston SSD (SV300S37A/120G).

Does anyone know how to correct this?

Do you recieve any error messages before crashing? Looking at the error reports, it appears to be related to graphics. The driver appears to be from Febuary of this year. Have you tried updating to a newer driver directly from the NVIDIA website?

I note that development is aware and working on a related issue (reference UP-20944). As soon as I find out more, I will respond with an update.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply Nathan. No, there is no error message before crashing - just the error report itself. Since nothing has changed since it last worked a few days ago, I didn't think of trying an updated graphics driver. I am downloading it now and I'll reply either way.

Thanks!

I just updated the driver to the latest one from nVidia, but it did not help. The program still crashes when I open it. I'm not sure if this is worth mentioning, but I had once again did a clean install. The program will open to the sign in screen with the option to sign in or create a new account. Once I put in my username and password and click sign in, it shows "Signing in" and then crashes.

Hi,

I looked up your CERs in our backend and you are hitting a problem that has been mentioned in a few other posts.  The crash is happening in our graphics subsystem and we are actively working on getting it fixed in an update soon.  Nathan might be working with you offline to see if the fix we are currently testing works for you.  In any case, we hope to have a confirmed fix available soon.

best regards,

Sanjay Jayabal.

Thank you Sanjay. With the release of Windows 10 yesterday, I decided to do a clean install of the new OS as well as Fusion 360. Everything went smoothly with no hiccups. Fusion 360 is opening now and it is quicker to respond as well.

Thank you guys for your help and time!

Andrew
