Fusion 360 Crashes after latest update under Windows 7 x64

After restarting the latest updated version of Fusion 360, the application now crashes on startup. During the first restart I was able to get to one of my 2D drawings in Fusion 360 at which point the application crashed. Any attempt to start 360 after this results in an immediate crash with the follow log:

Hi xapete,

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing trouble with the latest Fusion 360 update. To help us diagnose this issue further, may I request you to send a sepcific log file? The log file can be found at C:\Users\<windows user name>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log. You can either attach the file here, or send it to me directly at [email protected].

Also, would you mind sharing how you are launching Fusion 360 after the update? Are you doing this from the Start menu? If not, would you mind starting Fusion 360 using the Start menu and let us know whether the issue persists?

Regards,

Saurabh

Yes, I was actually starting Fusion 360 from a pinned shortcut in my Start bar in Windows. After starting fusion from the Start Menu, everything is fine and the pinned shortcut became invalid. That solved the problem. Thanks!

Hi xapete,

I am glad to hear the problem has been resolved. We are actively looking into this issue where pinned shortcuts in the Windows task bar do not function automatically after a software update. We are hoping to include a fix very soon. So stay tuned.

Regards,

Saurabh
