Fusion 360 Cookie Cutter Help

Hello, Team.

I am trying to create cookie cutters for my lady with my new 3D Printer.

From the beginning, it has been nothing but a headache. I tried following a tutorial by 3D Printing Nerd, using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, but every time I tried extruding the outline, it would come in as a solid object. I am able to emulate the same effect with Fusion 360, but that is getting me nowhere.

Where I am now, is able to create the outline of the image (attached) but whenever I try to create the offset, I get error messages. This is probably due to sharp angles that the offset is colliding with. Additionally, when I set the image as a canvas, it appears to only be 10mm tall, and aligned on the wrong plane. I have a front view instead of a top view.

I cannot figure out for the life of me how to scale, move align, anything.

I am hoping someone can help put together a beginners guide to outlines, scaling, moving, and offset paths. All of the tutorials I have found online thus far have moved way too fast, and give no real direction.

What I am trying to achieve is the knowledge to create basic to advanced outlines that would measure roughly 101.6mm x 101.6mm maximum which would be an equivalence to the standard "4-inch cookie".

Any guidance is appreciated. I have been at this for 3 weeks with no results, and have had to rely on CookieCaster for my needs. I really want to learn this program and dive into the world of creating.

Thank you in advance,

Ryan,

Attach the file you have got so far, better to teach with your data

File > Export to your hard drive, attach here just below this window but above the post button in this system.

Mario is about 2:1, so 100 by 50 odd, would make sense....

Might help...

Actually there's not much to it,

Sizes and dimensions up to you, he is about 100 tall.

Insert Canvass on the origin plane that is the same way the printer works, Z up.

Calibrate the canvass.  Pick top and bottom of the graphic, and set size 100MrCC.PNG

Trace the out line with well placed, three point arcs, and two point splines. Adjust the handles.

Offset the outline out for the flange.

Go to Patch environment, and Extrude the sketch.

Thicken to a wall thickness.

Extrude the flange using Join

My file is attached, save to hard drive,

File > New Design from File

Step up and down the timeline, check what happens,

Right click the icons and select edit, the dialogue boxes will show my settings.

that said, - 3d prints are not generally food safe.
