Fusion 360 beginner is looking for help

Hi all,

I want to make a 3D-printable 3D model of a picture. FYI it is the nanostructure of sharkskin (see the pictures underneath). I expect this shape would be made in the sculpting environment, but I lack the knowledge and skills to do so. My questions are 1. What would be a good way to create this model? 2. What would be the right workflow/thinking to tackle such a project?

I hope someone can help me.
Cheers,

Yes - I would use the sculpting environment. (assuming you do not have a mathematical model or an 3D scan of the real thing.)

It looks like you can take advantage of a symmetry line along the center. -some lines can be creased while others are smooth round. Maybe you have pictures from above and side, that you can use to sculpt the shape after -or you could do it all by free hand.

Everything you need is in this youtube video (360 LIVE: Sculpt a Nunchuck Controller):

I would use T-Splines particularly when a 3D scans available!

Except the guy does not model in box view mode at all, which is one of the most important techniques in Sub-D an T-Spline modeling.

I've lost count of how many people are following these videos and then come to the forum because their T-Splines don't look like they've expected, and a single look at the object in box view mode reveals the problem.
