Forming box section frames.

Hi all,

This may be a total newbie question, but having come from Solidworks I just can't seem to find a logical answer!

I'm trying to draw up a pretty simple box section (RHS) framework as per the attached screenshot, it's a table essentially. From my research, it seemed the 'pipe' tool in the model workspace is the closest thing to the weldments function in solidworks, so I went with that.
Aside from seeming REALLY clunky, it just doesn't seem to do the job. Nothing trims off to meet other parts, there's no ability to determine how members join etc.

Am I missing something, or is this really the only way to create a framework like this, aside from sketching every profile individually?! I intended to move fully from SW to Fusion, but I need to be able to design tubular motorcycle and car chassis. Not sure quite how I'd attack that right now!

Any suggestions gratefully received

Not used Solidworks myself, but presume it has Mirror and Copy commands,

your file can be tackled as an Assembly from the start, in Fusion.

You may need some workflow adjustments in Fusion,

Rule 1, is recommended reading.....

however, Pipe is fine, with Spit Body and Combine Cut, will work the way you are headed.

Might help...

In genreal Fusion 360 offers not much for weldments if at all. As @davebYYPCU states, you can model this and trim off unwanted pieces with either Modify->Combine(cut) ore Modify->Split Body and a Remove (not Delete!).

However, if you also need to Crete technical drawings of weldments than the drawing module will let you sit in the dark and cold!

I've designed custom automated factory machinery of about 20 years of my career and Frames and Weldments are an essential part of most machines.
