Font doesn't seem to work

I am inserting a SVG file that contains a font called Bank Gothic.  When Fusion displays the text it is not in the correct font.  The font is in the drop down list but when selected the displayed font is not correct.  I tried creating text from scratch (not from SVG) and the same thing happens.  I can select the font from the list and type in some text, but the displayed font is something else (not sure, maybe Arial?).  Any ideas why this would be?

PS:  when I save and go back into the design to edit the font, it shows the correct font name, but again not displaying the correct font....

Could you attach your model.  I am not seeing any issue with Fonts.

My file is attached.  I went to the internet and downloaded the Truetype Font.  It seems to work.  Check out my file first, then unzip the font, right click on the .ttf file and Install for All Users from the right click menu.  I assume you are using Windows 10.

Hi @tomae.

I use a version of Bankgothic too, which is attached below.

It worked here both in Fusion and CorelDRAW, for SVG.

Thanks, I use MacOS (Mojave).  The font is already installed my system (for all users) and works in every program I have (Affinity Designer, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, MS Word, Excel, etc etc) except for Fusion 360...

By the way, the same thing happens when I load your design.  Font claims to be Bank Gothic but is being displayed as something else...

I had two other version of the BookGothic font also, they did not show up in Fusion 360.  I installed the one I attach, restarted Fusion 360, no issues.  The other two versions, as well as the new one work in all applications also.  Go Figure

Tom-

It looks like your SVG didn't save the font.  I also don't see BankGothic as a font in Fusion 360, even though I have it installed on my machine.

I was able to use InkScape (free) to create the text in BankGothic.  I then saved it as a PLAIN svg.  I was able to bring the svg into Fusion 360.

I ran Inkscape on Windows (in a virtual machine) and created a file with the text using the Bank Gothic font (installed in windows).  I save the plain svg and then open in Fusion 360.  It still does not display correctly.

There is clearly something wrong with the MacOS version of Fusion and it's ability to render (or understand) TTF fonts.  I have downloaded and tried 8 different versions of this font from different places.  None of them work in Fusion 360 on my Mac.  They all work in every other program I try them in.

Any ideas?  By the way, I have other fonts on my system that have the same problem.  I can type some text and arrow through the list of fonts in Fusion 360.  There are maybe 10-20% of the fonts on my system that don't render correctly.

@tomae,

If you want to reference some text from a SVG file  in Fusion, it's a good practice to convert the text into paths first( you can do it in either AI or Inkscape). Otherwise it's not reliable to keep the shape of the text. For example, if you share your svg to others using some font downloaded from internet, it's very possible that the others will see a different font.

1. You can avoid this by converting the "text"  (Object) in Inkscape to "path" before exporting. Then a vector graphic is exported*.

object to path.png
*Appears green in Fusion instead of blue (Text).

2. Try an OTF Font  > Info
