Finding the centre of gravity of an assembly using Inventor Fusion 360

I have recently created an assembly on Fusion 360 and am very interested in finding the centre of gravity before manufacturing for a college project. Any advice on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Gordon,

We don't have this ability yet.  We can get you the mass by righclicking on the body or component and selecting "properties" but we can't yet calculate the mass moments of intertia or the center of mass/gravity.  The best path is to export to a 3rd party program (STEP works fine).

As an engineer myself I'd love to see this added!

Hope that helps.

Mike

Hi gordonlight,

I echo Mike in saying that I would like to see this functionality added as well!  If you want, you could create this as an idea on the IdeaStation:

I know I for one would vote it up to get it added into the product!  Let us know if you have any other features that you would like to see added in to Fusion 360.

Thanks,

James

You can do this today in Autodesk Inventor Professional.

You could do this 4 yrs ago (and I suspect more than 12 yrs ago) in Autodesk Inventor Professional.

Students can download Inventor for free from http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity
