File won't open

Hi guys,

 

I was up all night yesterday working on a design (File name: Sida rev 2) and when I try to open it today my software says "Sida rev 2 in unavailable". There is in fact THREE files called "Sida rev 2" in the data panel now for some reason, all of them without a thumbnail picture, and none of the will open.

And when I try to access the files in A360 it says "Error: There is no such entity".

 

So, any suggestions on how I can recover my work from last night?

 

I'm running Fusion 360 on iOS Yosemite by the way, and my Diagnostics log is attached.

One more....go offline by running "Work Offline" command and check if you have missing files available in your cache. We might have not uploaded the files due to some environmental condition.

Hi Petter_Poison,

 

Are you using the English as default system language? If not, would you please change the system language to English and have a try to see whether the issue is gone. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi everyone,

 

Im running with English as system language so it wasnt that.

However, when I switched to Offline mode there was indeed a version of the file there!!! So I was able to recover it! Thanks!!!

 

So my only problem now is that there is still three entries in my data panel without thubnails that are "unavailable". And I cant delete them! Any ideas on how I can do that?

Hi Petter_Polson,

Do you want to delete the items that don't show on the side panel when you work in online mode? If you don't want those "unavailable" items, Fusion360 program will automatically delete it when the local cached items got expired.

Thanks for your reply! Yup, I want them gone now that I've recovered the file from the cache. I tried to "Clear User Cache Data" but the three files are still there after the software restarted. Any more ideas?

Hi Petter_Polson,

 

Which "User Cache Data" folder have you removed? Actually, we really don't encourage our end user to delete any local cache data manually as this may cause known issues. Another safe way is to change the option "Offline cache time period (days)" to more shorter days, then your offline cached file would be deleted more earlier.

 

Please refer to the attached picture to change the option. Hope this can help to solve your problem.

Oh dear, I just clicked "Clear user cache data" in the drop down help-menu in the top right. Hope that hasn't ruined anything now.

 

Ok, I've set the "Offline cache time period" to 1 day. Lets see what happens!

Hi Petter_Polson,

 

Not sure whether the option setting "Offline cache time period (days)" works for you. But we indeed found this function was broken a previous feature. We have addressed this function in our February release.

 

And for the function "Clear user cache data", I found it works well for me. But it will clear all your local cached file. We’d better to make sure all the local offline new items getting uploaded to cloud server before using it.

Hi Fred,

Changing the  "Offline cache time period (days)" setting dont seem to have worked. I'm now running the 2.0.1407 version. Is that the lastest one? 

 

I also worked up the guts to "Clear user cache data". But the problem still persists. How do I proceed?
