File access offline

Hi,

I am having a problem. For the last 2 hours I have not been able to open designs that are in the cloud or save new designs to the cloud.

Which sort of brings me to my real problems when I try to work offline.

     1. I have somewhere over a 800 individual component and assembly designs, and they are not all present in the offline "data panel". Approximately 380 designs and 97 drawings are visible, I counted.

     2. The files that are visible in the "data panel", have not been sorted by name, date or anything else that I can see. In fact it looks like the files have been deliberately randomised.

Which means that every time I try to find a design offline, it takes a long time to scroll through the designs that are available. And the one I am looking for may not be there........

Would it not be possible to allow us to see all the files and to change the viewing options when offline? (I.E. the same options that are available online - sort by most recent, sort by name, view as grid, view as list)

Also, can the online folder structure not be duplicated to the local hard drive when files are uploaded to the cloud?

Regards,

Brett

Hi Brett,

In the Offline are visible the files which were at least once opened on Your machine.

So it's possible You don't see all the components, because You created them on another computer for example.

If You go to online and open these components at least once (just open and close these, Save is not needed), You should see them when in offline again.

There are other possible reasons for visibility of components in offline, for example if these are from different Hub.

Fusion is primarily online software, so not all features like sorting are supported in offline.

Regards,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Sorry for the delay.

Ok, thanks for your input.

I found a workaround.

It does require that any and all designs are exported to your local hard-drive as you create them.

To access your design offline, click on "New Design From File" and select the appropriate file on your local hard-drive.

Two BIG advantages -

The files are (or should be) in a duplicate folder structure on your local hard-drive, which means they are easily findable.

You have a backup copy of the data that is in the cloud.

Regards,

Brett
