Feature Request - Copy Sketch

Hi All,

Typically I use sketches as intended and create new sketches and project

what I need from previous sketches. Lately I have found it a bit frustrating

as what I want to do is create a modified sketch without having to change

the original. Project works great if you want specific points or features to

build off. What I want to do is modify a Spline and compare it to the original

shape.

The ability to copy the whole sketch to a new place would allow me to have

all of the required stuff that I built the original sketch with so I can move it

around in the copy and then compare the difference with the original. In the

case of Splines, all of my points and handles are copied over into the new

sketch and I can move the points and handles. If I simply Project the original

I cannot modify the shape. If I change the original it might change the rest

of the design that I don't want. If I can copy the sketch in its entirety I can

modify the sketch copy.

The behavior of the new sketch should have the characteristics of a copied

Component - I should be able to Copy or Copy New. A Copied sketch would

still be editable but would change the original (or vice versa) and a Copy New

would be a copy of the original that is independent.

While I agree that sketches should on the whole be relatively simple and modeling

should rely on the other tools, I don't see why I cannot copy work I have already

done and modify it instead of drawing it all from scratch.

Cheers

Hi @kacper.suchomski

Must admit I had not thought of such a simple solution and will use it. What I

am asking for however is being able to Copy and Paste a Sketch as if it is a

Body or Component from one place to another. Ctrl-C Ctrl-V is much faster than

your method and achieves the same end result.

Cheers
