Fasteners

I have been enjoying the ease of the insert fastener function that Fusion added I think it’s significantly faster than the McMaster option. I do however feel like it’s making some common bolts, such as a carriage bolt. Is there a way to add different hardware to the library?

Thanks,

Scott

In the Insert Fastener dialog, enter your screw or bolt type in the Search box.  If the fastener is not in the data base, it will give the the following screen.  Touch the "Request additional content" icon at the bottom.

Before the Fasteners tool existed I made my own folder called Fasteners and put in hand drawn fasteners that I wanted to use. I named them consistently like "1/4 x 2 Hex" and then you can easily search and insert into your drawing. You could do that for fasteners not yet in the library. And request the type/size you need so Autodesk can prioritize what is needed. I added Carriage bolts to the request page in the fastener dialog - that is a good one to add.

I know there is always a work around, I was just curious if anyone had heard whether they were planning on expanding the library, since they have a suggestion option it sounds like it.
