Extruding or hole

When attempting EXTRUDE or HOLE I often get the error message: "NO TARGET BODY FOUND TO CUT OR INTERSECT". Most times it works fine, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

We don't either, unless you provide a bit more detail 😉

It woud help if you could provide a screencast, which is a free utinilty you can download from here :

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/community/screencast?_ga=1.47540512.680912864.1437048133

Tt intgrates very nicely with Fusion360.

Once you've recorded your screencastit just takes a littel while to uload and once done, tou'll receive an email eith a link to the screncast that you can post/embed here.

Hi,

As TrippyLighting requested, it would be good to see what you are doing.  One obvious thing that comes to mind is that the direction of your extrude doesn't match the operation you are executing.  If in the Extrude dialog you change the Operation to Cut, then you also need to make sure that the direction is flipped to be into the material.  Or, alternately, you can launch Extrude, grab the direction arrow on the screen and reverse it into the material.  This will change the Operation to Cut in the dialog.  Hope this helps.

best regards,

Sanjay Jayabal.

This error comes up when doing a cut on a component that is linked, but not when extruding a new body. Breaking the link causes the error to go away.
