Extruding from projection that might change slightly depending on user parameters

I have a sketch on an angled plane, parts of which I project along a vector to a sketch on a horizontal plane. Then I use the horizontal sketch to extrude a cut upwards. I have user parameters that change the angle of the first mentioned plane, so the projection slightly changes. Not in a drastic way where you'd think new profiles would be created but it appears they are since the slightest change in projection completely confuses the extrusion. I don't know how I would work around this since I explicitly need the "shadow" of the angled surface (aka the projection along a vector) to cut the part the way i want.

 

Any help is appreciated.

Are the sketches fully constrained? Is the projected geometry still linked to the source?

the projection is constrained by the projection link. the original angled sketch is technically not fully constrained, since Sketch.ShowUnderconstrained shoes one dot at the end of one sketch line not being constrained, but this dot is connected to a line which itself is a mirror of another fully constrained line. So I think this might be bugged since I also can't move the "unconstrained" dot at the end of a constrained line.

it will be hard to do anything but throw out guesses w/o looking at the model.

 

one thing I would check is if you have multiple lines segments laid on top of each other, which can mess with how profiles are calculated.

 

another possibility would be to approach this differently. try doing a sweep/cut with the profiles from the angled plane along a line perpendicular to the horizontal plane.
