Extrude sketch into solid body

Very new to fusion and have a very simple question. I'm just playing around with tutorials and trying to extrude a planar sketch. When I extrude the sketch, it doesn't become a solid body.. or I guess it does but I see in plenty of online tutorials immediately when you extrude something the default is a dark grey solid looking body where mine just looks like this? I assume its some silly setting but hoping you can point me in the right direction...

I started by starting a new project, creating a new component, and then creating a sketch and used a center diameter circle and try to extrude that. but it doesn't show up as the default grey form shape, its just translucent. I tried shift the opaque level, but that wasn't it. I am on the educational license is this perhaps a limiting feature? Hoping it a silly little thing to change, I appreciate the help!

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

You are probably viewing in wireframe mode.

Also, make sure you are doing a Solid Extrude and not a Surface Extrude.

Educational license is fully functional.

Solid body - not sketch profile.

Image shows that sketch visibility is turned off.

From OP's screen capture.

Hi Alex,

RULE 0,1 and 2 will help you a lot here. They are pinned to the top of the Forum.

From your post it seems like you have the view setting like this:

When what you want is this?

The Fusion Documentation tutorials and the AutoDesk tutorials and YouTube Channel videos will help you a lot

on your journey to learn.

Next time if you post your .fd3 file it will help us work out what you have done and help you fix it.

If it is a propriety file then recreate the issue on a dummy file. This often helps you solve it yourself or lets

the Gurus see the behaviour of the file and solve the problem.

Cheers

Andrew
