extrude-cut pattern generate a crossing problem.

Hi,

I'm trying to punch through a hole pattern on a body (I've done this before on another model, using the same pattern) and although its not failing to generate, many of the holes end up having a "merged defects".

You can see the extrude cut outcome on the first image. On the second image I highlight the problem. The third image shows me selecting the inner surface which can seen through the hole that correctly generated but not on the ones with defect.

Please share your model.

You can export it as a .f3d and attach it to your next post.

I am experiencing a similar issue with Fusion 360 current version 2.0.2604.  See attached model.

Thanks!

You are right, I have tested your file. I have also tried to move the text to a new plane, but it didn't help. Something is definitely wrong!

I modeled a bit differently.

Download attached.

File>New Design From File

Make Component1 active

Edit Sketch1 and note that I did as a 2D sketch rather than as a 3D sketch.

Now if I could just spell....

Just FYI - the problem here is just a graphics issue.  It is definitely a bug and needs to get fixed, but the issue is just cosmetic.  I exported an STL from this model, and imported it into Meshmixer, and the model is fine:

Thanks for sharing the model - it will help us get to the bottom of the graphics issue.

Thanks all for your help.  Glad to assist in testing Fusion 360.
I've been using 123D Design for about a year, just starting with Fusion 360.  The ability to modify previous steps is a real motivator.
My first stab had some obvious flaws, as I started out on the wrong plane and rotated the sketch.  Didn't catch the difference between a 2D and 3D sketch.  And there was a useless narrow cylinder near the center which I'm unclear how it originated, that had dependencies. Still a LOT to learn.
I'm a software tester by trade, so I'll be glad to report any irregularities.  Fine product overall.
Cheers!MS

Rather than Move the sketch (to rotate) you could have right clicked on the sketch and Redefined the Sketch Plane.

How does one become "a software tester by trade"?  I ought to get in on that deal as I find bugs, err, "issues" every day.
