Extrude-cut does not cut through entire solid body

I don't understand why this closed sketch only cuts the rounded corners of this solid part?

The reason is that you have 2 sketch profiles. f you want both to cut, you'll have to select both.

Hold the ctrl ky and slect the 2nd one. Then it will cut.

 

I would recommend you  turn off this "feature" in the preferences. It's more a hindrance than it helps.

Thanks TrippyLighting. I tried turning-off that feature, but I still needed to select both contours of the sketch to get it to cut through properly. Still can't quite get my head around what it's doing. I come from a SolidWorks and Catia background, and this seems strange to me.

Thanks Guenther. Great video explanation btw! It worked just as you showed. I'm totally new to the Fusion 360 software and community. Great to know that there is friendly support out there. 🙂

In Fusion 360 you can use a single sketch to create several sketch profiles. Those can then be used to create separate 3D geometries. Comes inn very handy!

But it also simply means that sometimes you'll have to select more than one sketch profile to create one contiguous feature such as this cut.
