Export STL from existing Bodies/Model + Mesh Body

Hi All,

I am new to Fusion 360, but I have a base model that I have created already.  I went ahead and imported and existing STL that I wanted to add to my model which comes in as a mesh body.  I was able to position the mesh body onto the existing model, but I can't seem to figure out how to export both the model and the mesh body as a single STL.  I have not been able to convert the mesh body to BRep with success.  I don't need to modify the mesh body in any way, I just want it attached to my base model so that I can 3d print the combined model and STL.

Any help would be appreciated!

To get both your mesh and solid exported together at the same time, they must both be the same format (either mesh or solid). Since your mesh is too complicated to convert, we can instead convert the solid to mesh.

In this example I load in a generative designed lattice to a void section of my solid. I then convert the solid to mesh and join the two meshes together. I can then export the resulting mesh as needed.

I have found that really REALLY large meshes don't save out well. You can get an OBJ to work sometimes but STL seems to fail. Any Autodesker that wants to have a go with a confirmed failing dataset is more than welcome to it.
