Export Component to Project Data Not Working

I need to set up a Share Public Link with a machine shop so that they can down load the AutoCAD files format that they want to work with from my project.

To prepare for this, I was trying to save a fla version of a selected component from within Fusion using the File → Export drop down option.

1. Hide other components in project

2. Select a component

3. Make it active by selecting the white dot (it should have dot in side when selected)

4. Made sure that there are no extra hidden bodies under the Body folder that might also export.

5. With the component active and select from the menu: File → Export drop down option.

6. Set up the correct settings for the export project folder and/or download locally.

7. Run Export

I was able to export and download locally however, the files were not saved to my project folder. Perhaps others have noticed this not working correctly.

My work around was to export locally and then upload to my Project Folder.

It's not quite clear to me what software you are running.

You are on the Fusion 360 forum though.

Yes, This is with Fusion 360 running on Windows 10.

I did not check to see if the other export file formats would work. Just the DWG.

I see. Just tried this myself.

What data do you want to export and 3D model file or a drawing ?

With a model file from Fuion 360 you can export several formats and choose the option to have it stored into a project in the cloud. That does not include DWG or DXW. F.A.I.L.

If I could hace inserted som nast

When you have a drawing open from within Fusion yu can only save it locally as a PDF or DXF. NO option is provided to automaticallt uploade it to the project in the claud. F.A.I.L.

From A360 you can convert 3D model data as DWG (and many other formats) but it sends you an email with a link and no option is provided to store it in the project in the cloud. F.A.I.L.

It really looks like at the moment the is no other way to export locally and then upload it to the cloud, as rediculous as it seems.

Then, on the other hand, I've had two beers already and maybe things look better in the morning. YMMV 😉
