Export a 3D Wireframe PNG

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello all,

I am trying to export a 3d wireframe representation of my 3d model. The intent is to export a vector or PNG that looks like this: http://www.etc.cmu.edu/projects/atl/images/facial/wireframe.jpg

OR like:

http://www.creativeapplications.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/wireframe.jpg

Ideally I would like to orient the 3D part in Fusion and then export that view's 3D wireframe.

Any advise on how to accomplish this?

Thank you!

Hi @Anonymous, I guess you want to export the mesh data of Fusion model. If it's true, you can do it by "Save as STL" command in the context menu of component or body browser entry.

I have the same problem. I want to export the model as a wireframe graphic, but I can't find any option to do so. I could just make a screenshot, but the wireframe lines are too thin and sometimes disappear, so that doesn't work either.

Do you want the wireframe to be triangulated, or do you want the wireframe to look like it does in Fusion, but more crisp?

I wanted it to look like in Fusion, but with all the lines (visible and hidden) visible, not disappearing

Ok, then I think you are trying to achieve the samen as me. I have posted this this, but haven got any useable solutions yet:

In case you haven't found a solution, I do this everyday by publishing my fusion models  online and using this online tool to download the model in different formats and one of them is dwg. I open the model in Autocad and from there you can get all the views you need by using the layout tab. If you don't have autocad then you can download the Autocad trueview for free and do the same thing.

This is it! Your solution worked. Thank you so much!! Looks like Autocad Trueview has all the "wireframe" views I have been looking for.

Under the file menu there's now a capture image feature that will allow you to export as a png at any resolution. The lines were still a bit faint and thin after exporting, but I was able to darken them in photoshop.
