Experiment in Making NPT Threads

I made a trial 1/4" NPT thread with a parameter table. I used the created body to make a hole in a model I need by combine/cut. Here is the file. I tried to make it adaptable. If you need NPT step through it. If you can make it better please post your results.

I was really hoping others better at Fusion would update this file. It has so far worked for me. Soon, we may have modeled threads making this approach history.

Here's a simplified version with only 4 features.

Just to test I've ended up with the same body here's a comparison.

Hi Trippy,

I needed this file today and looked it up. You copied an error in my original drawing that makes the thread percentage feature not work. I changed the inner circle in the first sketch to "Actual_OD - ( Thread_Depth * ( 1 - Thread_Percentage ) )". This looks right, I am not sure it is strictly correct.

Also, I am unable to make the revolutions calculate automatically. It should be Thread_Length/Threads_Per_Inch but I can get the units sorted out.

Here is a screenshot. I am not sure why I needed to shift the coil .010 to get the threads right. 😕

Interestingly, whatever I did made the file not exportable. I can export a test file but not the threads.
