Errors in paste-new component

here is something that I do not understand. This design https://a360.co/2EaSb4u is error-free as far as I can see. If I copy component "Finger A" and paste-new it into the "gripper fingers" top-level component, Sketch #2 of the pasted component immeidately throws an error. Why is that?

The FingerA component has a sketch (sketch 2) which includes some geometry from component griffa in the sub-assembly 6969 so when you copy it as a new component this reference geometry creates the error.  See Screecast.  Paste-new into an new file and the same error is occur for the same reason.  It is happy in the top level assembly because it has all of its references.

A million thanks! I have often debated with myself when to place sketches in upstream components and when not. This example makes a perfectly clear case for the former.
