Solved by hstalker. Go to Solution.
I'm not sure what is causing this issue. I'm unable to tell from the log file, but I will escalate the file to developement.
When you are uninstalling, can you clarify if you using the following procedure?
MAC
Uninstalling
1. Move the Autodesk Fusion 360 and/or Autodesk Sim 360 dock icons to the trash.
Clearing your cache files
2. Start a new Finder window.
3. In the Finder Menu (Apple bar on top), select Go > Go to Folder
4. Enter ~/Library in the dialog that comes up
5. Browse to Application Support/Autodesk/and move the following folders to the trash:
- Webdeploy
- Web Services
- Autodesk Fusion 360
- MC3
- Synergy
- NINVFUS (if present)
- Neutron Platform
- Common
- Autodesk Sim 360 (if present)
- NSIM (if present)
6. Next navigate to $TMPDIR/Autodesk (open a Terminal window, and
type:open $TMPDIR/Autodesk) and move the following folders to the trash:
- Autodesk Fusion 360 and/or Autodesk Sim 360
- BrowserCache
- Neutron Test Application
- Project Forge (if present)
- Project Simulus (if present)
Please keep us posted on your progress. I hope we can get this resolved soon.
Thanks,
Hi Again
Yes I followed the procedure above then attempted reinstall and had the same issue.
Actually I am a programmer myself so I followed the script step by step and downloaded each .gz file then extracted them into the correct directory's
After I had completed the script manually (well what I could as some options are not 100% clear by the log entries alone)
I run the fusion 360 app and it all worked OK.
I noticed that during the install it seems to delete the fusion 360 app its self so I guess you have a problem on the install script not the files being downloaded.
Anyway I got it to work and all seems to be OK right now and I am enjoying getting to know the product.
Regards
Hamish
Hi This problem comes back on every release.
i have check the perrmission on the /Application folder and they are
drwxrwxr-x+ 142 root admin - 4828 29 May 12:49 /Applications
0: group:everyone deny delete
I have also tried making the manual link and that seems no problem.
Could you post the exact command its trting to do and i will run that and check to see if i get a error?
OK. It makes sense that the issue would still be there. We haven't really done anything to address it.
For the most current release, the closest command-line equivalent of the operation being performed should be:
> ln -s /Users/hstalker1/Library/Application\ Support/Autodesk/webdeploy/production/6a88ca9ecf6a1a144827d27fb0c048ce591e1e8c/Autodesk\ Fusion\ 360.app /Users/hstalker1/Applications/Autodesk\ Fusion\ 360.app
This command line is untested, so please correct any typographical errors you may discover 🙂
Please let me know the results, and further information regarding /Users/hstalker1/Applications and /Users/hstalker1/Applications/Autodesk\ Fusion\ 360.app if it exists.
If this works, and the installation still fails, we can get a little more information about the process by enabling debug logging. This is done with the following command line after mounting the download dmg:
> open /Volumes/Autodesk\ Client\ Downloader/Double\ Click\ to\ Install.app --args -v DEBUG
This will pretty much just help me validate that I gave you the right parameters to the symlink command above.
Thanks,
Steven
Hi Ok found the problem with the command. I realised my system had a issue in that the ~/Applications folder was a link to /Applications. This would not allow the link to be created. To solve this i will deleted the link and created a new ~/Applications folder and all when perfectly. Thanks for you help and i would say now this issue is closed and i can continue to enjoy this great product.
Dear all,
Six years later and I am now getting this error when I try to install Fusion 360. I have tried the fixes recommended here, including deleting and recreating the ~/Applications folder, but to no avail. I am still getting errno 20, even when I try a clean reinstall. Any suggestions?
