Error when copying a "Clone Part"

I am desinging an airfraft. The two wings are not identical so I copied one and renamed the new file. I made the changes that I needed then attempted to add them to my assembly. I got the following error. 

"You are trying to insert Wng v1, which appears to be a clone of Wng 2 v3. Teflon FP v3 is already referenced by the active document. Insertion of copies of documents is not supported right now."

Is there is an easier way to make changes on the wing without copying the base model?

This is a known limitation that we are working on fixing.  In the meantime, open your existing wing in Fusion, select the root of the component browser, and choose "Save Copy As".  This will create a copy of the wing that can be inserted into the same top-level assembly.
