Error: inconsistent edge-face relationships Failed to Boolean bodies together

I am getting an  "inconsistent edge-face relationships, Failed to Boolean bodies together" error when trying to combine 2 bodies that I had previously been able to combine.  I tried what I could to make sure everything overlaps but to no avail.

Is there any way to have Fusion display what edge face relationships it considers inconsistent?

Thank you.

Hey mtriffon,

Can you attach an archive of the design you're working on, and a screenshot / screencast of what you're trying to do?

Since posting I was able to manually find the area that was causing an issue and fix it.  My question remains the same:

Is there a way to highlight the problem areas rather than spending hours looking for them?

If the software knows there is an error, it follows that it could identify them visually.

Hey @mtriffon -

Unfortunately, there is no way to highlight the problem areas in Fusion today.

If we look to the future, having more in-depth information in error messages / failed commands is something we are targeting. The modeling engine in Fusion can provide certain information when commands fail, but the level of detail varies on a command-to-command basis. For the Combine command, we are able to determine the face(s) that can cause the error, but not the exact location. Another popular request for this information is the Fillet command which our modeling engine can provide a bit more granular feedback on. Considering that, we will most likely target Fillet first, and then be aiming for more coverage as time goes on. If you have other specific commands you would like to see this information on, please let me know.

Thanks,

By the way, other graphics engines seem to spit out the same error message and they recommend a spline for the path element. I was essentially having the same problem as this thread. I could sweep a 'new' body. But I couldn't 'cut' a previous body with the new sweep and instead got this error message. Then I tried saving the 'sweep' as a new body, then doing a combine-cut (I realized I wanted to keep the body as a 'tool' for other components). Again, got the inconsistent edge-face error message. I converted the 'path' from a series of discrete arc segments to a spline. The error went away.
