Others have had this problem, now I seem to not understand.  I cannot emboss on a solid created by a revolve.  There is something that a face picking can't have "wavy" lines?  How do I get emboss to work with a revolved solid?  I included my test files.  Thank you!

Correct! Functionality that will allow to emboss on compound curved surfaces is currently in development.

I have attached your model modified with your text added.  I did not know if you wanted raise letters or cut letters, you can decide.  If you want cut letters, drag the timeline marker to the left one click.  If you do not understand the timeline let me know and I will explain further.   @TrippyLighting , you taught me this method!  Model is attached.

@jhackney1972 I just turned my computer off so haven’t looked at your model. I guess I should have more accurately stated that you usually cannot use the emboss tool for such cases.

Here is another version. All of those create slightly different geometry. Of course this surrogate emboss technique works best for surfaces that aren't too strongly curved.

When you move the text down to a more strongly curved area it will start do deform quite strongly.

Yes that is the method I thought I remembered.  The Split Face command is the command I forgot as my method keeps the letter tops parallel to the text sketch plane, your method makes them follow the bowl shape.  Not sure which one I like best but I imagine the OP will like your method the best.  Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you!  I truly appreciate your reply.  Because I learned from your insights.  I had no idea to use a "thin skin" extrude!  It certainly works.  Not obvious!

Thank you.  Obviously, there was NO WAY I'd figure out this method based on face splitting.  I truly appreciate - and I am grateful for - what I have learned from you
