Editing feature Revolve and pattern not allowing me to make multiple selections

i`ve currently encountered the followign problem:

When editing features like Revolve or Pattern for example where several profiles or objects where selected, i can not change the profiles or objects or add additional. If i cancle the selection to make a new selection it will only allow me to select a single profile even if holding down shift or in case of patter a single object also regardless if holding down shift or not.

am i doing something wrong ?

Not really a facepalm imo. I had to search to figure out how to edit and select multiple features and ended up here (7 years later...). It's confusing because it's inconsistent -- when creating a new pattern, you can simply left-click on multiple features without any modifier keys. But then when you edit, you suddenly have to use modifier keys, and the interface doesn't tell you this.
