DXF not inserting onto plane

Hi guys just trying to insert a dxf onto a plane but im unable to. I can look for the file select the file but then nothing happens. Any idea whats going on here?

Please provide your dxf file so I will check the exact issue while inserting the dxf file.

Its better If you provide screen cast of your exact workflow.

Managed to sort this issue however I now have another issue. 

The dxf's imported into Fusion have been created with the following method: 

Line drawn in illustrator

Stroke converted to outline to make shape

Exported as DXF

DXF imported into fusion

Shape is no longer fully enclosed and anchor points not all connected 

This means that I cannot just extrude the shape which should be a straight forward exercise, could anybody advise me of a better way to do this?

Manually going through and attaching all anchor points is not an option due to how many I have to do.

Sorry for your experience with dxf import.

But in this case we don't know about, how illustrator treated with dxf entities while exporting.

if you don't mind is it possible to share your dxf ? which you facing issue, so it will be helpful us to trace exact issue, its with fusion or illustrator.

Not sure why but i can no longer export them as dxfs (parm error) so have exported as svgs. The bottom left orchid shape works, but the bird wont hold its shape and looses the detail round the head when imported despite it all being joined properly in illustrator. I have included both the ai file as despite being able to bring svg's into fusion i cant attach them in this message
