Hello All,

I've had a consistent issue over time of bodies disappearing from view in the drawing space after a model link update.

Please see the screen recording attached and let me know if you have any experience or insight on this.

Thank you for watching!

Anybody?

I deal with this at least once a week when updating drawing sets.

It requires me to recreate multiple pages in a document.

A few times, I've gotten the bodies to re-appear by updating model link, saving drawing file, rebooting Fusion, re-open drawing-file.  This has worked a handful of times, but not enough to call it a solution, and it's still a work-around at best.

I'm looking into upgrading my machine and hopefully a higher clock processor and better GPU will help

with this and all the other performance glitches Fusion is laden with.

Autodesk! This is so goofy. After editing models certain bodies just can't be shown in drawings after updating link. I'm sure many many users are inconvenienced by this every day. Please fix!

Hi Eugene,

I could be wrong but I don't think the drawing update behavior is correct. It looks like a bug to me. If possible, please share the f3z file here or send it to me at [email protected]. I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hi

I've had the same issue a couple of times. Any solution?

Right now it seems like the "lost" body is visible in "shaded" but not in "visible edges".

This time i have isolated the issue to the "combine" feature in the design space. If i suppress the Combine feature and the update the drawing, the bodies that where combine are now visible in the drawing.

Very odd!!!

@gustav_raymondson

In the design space are there any unresolved issues highlighted on the Timeline?

Does Ctrl b return any error warnings?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Hi

No visible issues in the timeline.

ctrl B gives me no warnings.

I tried to duplicate the project and remake the part, it made no difference.

The part itself is made out one extruded profil, made as pattern along a path and then combine to one body.

The problematic body is called "Back rest".

You probably should have started a new thread with a link back to this one as reference, but here we are so here we'll stay.

I haven't dug deep, but I observe 3 things that concern be right away.

TheCADWhisperer_0-1747053235166.png

1. None of your sketches are fully defined.

2. This fillet does not appear the same on the other side (probably nothing to do with the issue you are reporting but it isn't aesthetically pleasing to not have symmetry.

3. I suspect this area will be the issue when I dig deeper.

To dig deeper I will take the timeline back to first solid feature, create drawing and then step forward in the timeline until the issue appears.

(I suspect that I will be replacing a bunch of Extrudes and Revolves with Sweep features.)

Ok. Here is the version that worked fine.

The only thing a changed was the fillets on the first body in the pattern. And then it disappeared when I updated the linked drawing.

Hi! I think this is a drawing view compute bug. It should just work regardless. The body is Ok. I don't see any reason why the body should disappear from the drawing view. I do notice that the two Path Patterns seem to have starting points slightly off 0. After I change the start points to absolute 0, the body reappears in the drawing view.

i deal with this almost every day. in all kind of different files. it gets a bit annoying and takes way to much time.. the only work around i have is to surpress all exept the hidden body/component. That will show the body/component in the drawning. Then unsupress all the other components i want to show on my drawning. And done. But it only works until you change your model again and update the drawning. then you can start all over again.

feels like a bug.
ps; nog errors in my models. only 1 body per component an all sketches are defined.
