Drawing - section view hatching problem

Hello,

When a add a section view in my drawings the hatching is horizontal by default. When I try to edit in the hatch dialog display it doesn't have any effect on the appearance of the hatching. Neither the pattern, scale nor the angle change anything on the drawing.

The fact that the hatching comes horizontal by default is strange because on every tutorial that I watch, it comes 45 degrees by default.

Does anyone have the same problem? Is it a bug? Do I maybe misuse the software?

Any hints will be much appreciated!

Cheers

Alain

Hello Alain-

That does sound odd.  Are you able to share the file with me so I can take a look at it?  My email is brad.tallis@autodesk.com

Thank you-

Brad

Hi Brad,

Thank you for your answer. The program behaves like this with all the drawings that I created. It did'nt happen on a specific file. I'll make a quick one and share it with you.

Thank you for your support

Alain-

Thank you for sharing the file.

It opened up and displayed correctly on my machine.  (see image)

I'm curious if this may be a graphical issue.  Have you restarted Fusion 360 recently?  You might want to confirm that your graphics card driver is the latest and up to date.

Hi Brad,

Thank you for testing the file on your computer. I restarted Fusion and checked that the graphic drivers are up to date. It didn't solve the problem.

In fact, when I open the hatch dialog (double click on hatches) and when I change a value there is no effect on the drawing. If I close the dialog and reopen it the value that I changed is not recorded and returns to default value. Does this behavior dispel doubt of a display problem.

I made another test by creating a section view of an assembly. The different parts get different hatching angles as expected. The part n°1 gets an horizontal hatch angle.

Btw I am running Fusion 2.0.8749 on Mac OS 10.13.6

Do you have another lead?

Thanks again for your help.

Hi,

I upgraded Fusion to version 2.0.8809. My hatching problem still remains. I am quite convinced that it is a bug of software. The strange thing is that it seems that I am the only person that ever had this problem... Where should I report it to get support?

Thank you!

Brad took the time to help me with a zoom meeting and screen sharing (thank you very much Brad)

I was using the software in french language and switching it to english solved the problem. It is a minor bug that will be fixed very soon. In the mean time, I have no problem using the software in english.

Thanks again Brad! Thumbs up to autodesk!

Hello Everyone,

I have the same problem, hatching doesn't respond.

I work in the French version because I'm a teacher in the French speaking part of Belgium so I can't change it into English for my students.
What can I do?

I have the same problem with the italian language, the hatching is horizontal by default and the edit window doesn't have any effect.

I've changed the language in english and now works fine.

i hope this bug will be fixed soon.

Thank You

Change languages from italian to english solve partialy the problem with hatching problem.
In fact the angle choose is incongruent with the angle request.
I.E. if i digit 45 deg hatching is vertically, if i digit 0 deg hatching is 45 deg to the right.
The problem remains.

New fusion 360 user and I seem to be having issues every other day with this software. Program has a lot of glitches and features that don't work how they should. Having the same issue, I can cross hatch some components and some don't work. Software is been a nightmare since day one. Any help with this issue would be great.

I have tryed restarting the program, restarted the computer, moved componets etc. and issue is still there. All these issues makes the drawing take 10 times longer to finsh, from asking people on the forum to poor customer service. fusion 360 is just a horrible program.
