Drawing from animation with a perspective view

Hi Everyone,
When I create a new drawing from animation, the drawing gets an orthographic view. But I would like to create a new drawing from animation with a perspective view. Does anyone know how to do that?

Welcome to the Community!  Can you share some detail on the steps you take to create this drawing and view?

Thank you for the response.

In the Animation workspace, I created an exploded view of a design. I would like to create a Drawing of this exploded view via File - New Drawing - From Animation. However, the drawing is then in Orthographic view. I would like the drawing to be in Perspective view because it doesn't look good otherwise.

When you create the new drawing and place your view, do you not see these same menu options?  (I do not have any animations so I am looking at a new drawing From Design).

Yes, I also see these menu options. But when I create a perspective view in this way, it looks much less visually appealing.

Can you share what you are seeing that you do not like, and maybe an example of what you want to achieve?

This Drawing from Animation (storyboard) is what I get (orthographic).

This Drawing from Animation (storyboard) is what I would like to have (perspective).
But I'm afraid that it's not possible.

Hmmm, if you are getting the first result after selecting Create Perspective View, it seems like something is not right.  @johnsonshiue does this seem like a bug to you?

Yes this is correct. There is no connection between animation space Perspective camera views and drawing perspective camera views.

The drawing view perspective is a little more angled than the design space perspective camera. Is this what bothers you?

One thing that might help you is using a Named View camera for the drawing. However this is a tricky workflow due to limitations in the Animation workspace.

Here's the trick:

1. Set up an animation view just like you'd like to see it in the drawing

2. Exit Animation and enter Design workspace

3. Immediately create a new Named View

When you create the drawing view, call up the custom camera.

In the drawing workspace, I can indeed create a perspective view via CREATE --> Perspective View. However, when I export this as a PDF, things go wrong. See the picture.

If I now export a PDF via File --> View Details on Web, it works fine. This is currently a good solution for me.

Thank you for the responses.

@Vandewielen_bert ,

It seems to be dataset specific issue. Can you share the link of your drawing file? Then we can do more investigation. Thanks

Thanks for sharing the dataset. It is a known issue and internal ID is ACD-40316.

Currently, the workaround is to view and export it from web as you menioned.
