Drawing curved blades - Vertical Wind turbine

I am in the endeavor to model a vertical wind turbine and its curved blades - just like the image in the following url. I am able to import the NACA airfoil profile using excel .csv file and extrude the profile, but so far I have had no luck designing the curved blade - not even with "sweep" function.

Does anybody have a clue on how to do this task?

Thank you

Hi @felipeherr

Thank you for posting.

I understand that you've already knew about importing csv data. but you can't create the blade shape. I think it would be possible by theoretical.

It would be possible to create loft with 2 profiles and 2 guidelines. Please take a look at this image (red color - profiles, purple and orange color - rails

but I think it would be sure after looking into your model. could you share your file to me?  my email address is [email protected]

If I missed something, please let me know. Smiley Embarassed

Many thanks

Hi @felipeherr,

I have created a few video on how to create propellers, maybe some of the techniques will help you:

@ahreum.ryu

With your suggestion and the aid of the video posted by @Beyondforce I have been able draw the blade using the Loft command. The only thing missing in the design is the curvature as shown previously in the picture of the original post. How can I curve the loft rails?

Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Felipe

Hi @felipeherr

Thank you for sharing your status.

In my case, I created new planes along with center point but I couldn't get the rail's curvature from you so I just use any values.

If you feel hard to reproduce it or If I miss something, please let me know. I will happy to support you. (I sent your file through your email)

@Beyondforce, I think it's also good way! thank you for your idea and I've been learning from you a lot Smiley Embarassed

Many thanks!

Hi @ahreum.ryu,

Thank you very much for taking the time trying so solve my issue. Fortunately, I spent a good amount of time solving the design and succeeded! Although watching you drawing the blade gave me tips on how to tackle some problems I had while finishing up my design. Either way, I thank you and @Beyondforce for suggesting solutions. Much appreciated.

Many thanks!
