drawing components

Hi there,

             I have flat spokes radiating from a central boss which have been modelling using radial pattern, when the drawing is generated using just one spoke to detail the parts list only calls up one required instead of the total, is there a way to solve this call off without having to add a note to this effect.

Are you patterning components, or bodies ?

Components are counted in the BOM, bodies are not.

Hi there, In reply I confirm that they are all components, also in the drawing of the main assembly the parts list shows 12 spokes however when I produce a drawing for a single spoke the parts list or BOM only shows one, it mean the fabricator has to refer back to this main assembly, therefore I assume this is the way the programme is meant to work,kind regards,cleevista (Geoff Wheeler)

Hi cleevista,

I have a suggestion for a workaround, with the caveat up front that it is not not very elegant.  That said it should accomplish what you are trying to do.

1.  Open the design (has 12 spoke components)

2.  Open the detail drawing of the single spoke

3.  Return to the design > From browser, Ctrl+ or Shift+ select all the spokes > Right-click > New drawing

4.  In the Create Drawing dialog, expand Destination Drawing and select the Spoke detail drawing > OK > Place the view in the drawing

5.  Parts List > At the prompt select the view you just placed > Place the BOM - the Qty will be 12

6.  Delete the last view > Save the drawing

Now this drawing has the single spoke detail with the full assembly spoke count.  For the time being does that work for you?  Please note we *are* actively working on better control around issues like this, including adding/removing components from views, as well as edit of tables so this type of extra step should not be required down the line once these new features are ready and available.
