Drawing attributes = variables...?

Hi, I have a general problem understanding drawing attributes. How can I actually fill the text fields with content...? I mean, I can even create custom attributes (=equal to variables?), but I can't assign a text to the attributes. Maybe I am getting the concept wrong? Please see the pictures for an explanation.

How can I fill all the fields with content? How can I fill all the fields with content?Only some of the fields are filled automatically. Where can I access the properties of my document to fill the fields "Document Type", "Dept.", "Date of issue" etc...Only some of the fields are filled automatically. Thanks. But that makes it a bit hard to understand the sense of attributes... I could just enter the text directly.

I think what he is asking is, for example, where is the attribute "TITLE_3" automatically pulled from? Where in the component do you go to enter that information so it appears on every drawing of that component? The same question applies to the other attributes that come standard with F360 like "REV" or "DOCUMENT_STATUS." Coming from Solidworks, I expect that I would click on Component Properties in the 3D modeling environment and be able to edit all of the attributes of that Component that would automatically populate in the drawing. If that is not the case, what is the point of having a pre-defined attribute called "TITLE_3" if it ends up just acting like dead non-parametric text? Is the "REV" number of the part stored only in the drawing file, not in the component?

SOLUTION:

The only drawing attributes that are automatically filled in are the ones that show up in the attributes drop-down dialog box. Drawn By, Drawn Date, Drawing Scale, Paper Size, Project Name, Sheet Number, Title 1. I was faked out by the fact that they had a bunch of other attributes in their default drawing template that looked like the should be "live" but they are just placeholders at the moment.
