I am trying to draw an airfoil from coordinates generated from another program.   Looks like I need to "import spline csv"    I cannot seem to get a format from excel into somethint that fusion 360 likes.

Time line off. Eyeballs on. It does not create a sketch.

Attach is the file.

Thanks

Ok, timeline on, (about the only difference between our processes)

I get this, on a right side sketch.

rightsdcsv.PNG

There are 6 or 7 lines at the end with just a zero in column A, I deleted those and it made no difference between the two files, That I could see.

I found 2 duplicate points on line 2 and 3, deleted them and the last line, which you can add in as a straight chord line.

Doesn't look like an airfoil I would be using....

Might help.....

Hi Mr. ValR7UZK,

What NACA airfoil profile are you intend to use?

This is the profile of the diffuser in an existing racecar which I tried to compare with my designs. I am using Autodesk CFD for that. I beat this design! ha ha

I turned on he timeline and everything worked! How is that possible? Out of frustration I sketched the profile by hand using coordinates from the CSV file (very tedious). I could have waited another day and avoid the work

I designed my 3 wings from .dat files converted to .csv ) from an on-line  airfoil database a while back so  I knew how to do it except the "minor" detail of the timeline

Thanks

Ok, pleased you got sorted, can’t say about the timeline,

Another thing I noticed was that there were 3 sections in the csv, that were actually straight lines, The script removed the points that were intermediates for the straight sections making an uneven spread of points,

There used to be a script supplied to plot points without the spline but that has been missing for a while now.

Cya.

Yes I could've replaced multiple entries  with the same Y with a single entry for Y but bigger Z to actually draw a straight line. What's also missing is to smooth out the spline which I had to do manually do for the wings because the 2D foam CNC cutter would not accept the corresponding  DXF file otherwise. They don't take any other file format, Ditto for the water jet CNC cuter. CNC mills are more flexible.
